AHOSKIE – The wait is finally over.

On Monday, Jan. 30, the NCDMV license plate agency office in Ahoskie opened for business. That office has been closed since March of last year.

Officials with the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles said the office will be located at 905 East Memorial Drive adjacent to Schewels Furniture in Ahoskie.

Excluding state-observed holidays, the Ahoskie office is scheduled to be open weekdays between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

In North Carolina, NCDMV oversees these locations, but the license plate agencies are managed by private businesses or local governments.

These offices offer vehicle registration services and title transactions, as well as vehicle license plate renewals, replacement tags, handicap placards, and duplicate registrations.

Services such as property tax payments and registration renewals can also be completed online at www.MyNCDMV.gov.
