Sheriff’s Office charges two with pot possession

GATESVILLE – In separate cases, the Gates County Sheriff’s Office has recently arrested and charged two individuals for marijuana possession.

While conducting a security check at County Market, Gatesville, on Jan. 14, deputies were alerted to an overwhelming scent of marijuana.

Upon further investigation, deputies came in contact with Seth Przepioria of Chesapeake, VA. A search of Przepioria’s person, and the vehicle he was a passenger in, was conducted and deputies discovered over 200 grams (7.05 ounces) of marijuana, a firearm, cash, and other narcotics which are still being investigated.

Subsequently, Przepioria and a juvenile were taken into custody.

Przepioria was charged with Felony Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver a Controlled Substance, Felony Possession of Marijuana, and Felony Possession of a Firearm by Felon.

This matter is still under investigation and further charges may be pending.

During the week of Jan. 2, deputies executed a search warrant at a residence in the 700 block Of Willeyton Road, Gates. There, one of the occupants of the residence, Christopher Jones, was found to be in possession of over 500 grams (1.1 pounds) of marijuana, cash, and other illegal contraband.

Jones was taken into custody and charged with Felony Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver a Controlled Substance, Felony Maintaining a Dwelling for the Use and/or Sale of a Controlled Substance, and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
