RALEIGH – A veteran judicial official who has previously served District 1 is returning to the bench.
Last week, Governor Josh Stein appointed Eula Reid as a Superior Court Judge in District 1, which serves Camden, Chowan, Currituck, Dare, Gates, Pasquotank, and Perquimans counties.
Reid is filling the vacancy created after the Honorable Jerry Tillett retired.
Reid currently serves as an Emergency Superior Court Judge. From 2021-2022, she served as a Superior Court Judge and was a District Court Judge for the 14 years prior to that.
She received her B.A. from Elizabeth City State University and her J.D. from North Carolina Central University School of Law.
“Judge Reid has a strong career in public service within the First Judicial District,” said Governor Stein. “Her judicial experience and commitment to her community makes her the right person for the job, and I look forward to her service on the bench.”
