HERTFORD, NC – With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of a legend. Jeanne Shirley Hecker left this earth February 15, 2025. She is now reunited with her beloved, late husband, Billy, whom she spent 31 years with before his passing in 2019.

Born June 23, 1955, Jeanne left a huge impact on everyone she met with her kindness and helpful nature.

Surviving are her three children: Rickie Twiford (Kyleigh) of Gates, Heather Loftis (Adam Brinkley) of Hertford, and Shannon Mason of Portsmouth, VA; six grandchildren Casey Witek (Mike) of Gatesville, Zachary Twiford of Pennsylvania, Josie Gilbert (Casey) of Pennsylvania, Jordan Loftis of Missouri, and Raven and Harper Twiford of Gates; and several great-grandchildren. Jeanne is also survived by two sisters: Annie Page and Antoinette LeCompte, and several nieces and nephews.

Jeanne will always be remembered for her infectious smile, her kind heart, and her unwavering love for her family. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made in Jeanne’s memory to a charity of your choice.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
