ACT Prep
Recently, we have had our juniors begin prepping for their ACT. The ACT is an entrance exam used by most colleges and universities to make admissions decisions, and it is very important that our Junior class takes this test to the best of their ability. They have been participating in ACT Prep classes and preparing for this milestone test.
Good luck to all of our juniors!

HOSA States
The HOSA students who went to regionals are allowed to go to the State Leadership Conference. We hope to go to nations. The cost of going to the SLC is $200 total (which includes the SLC cost $85 and the hotel cost $115).
The dates you have to give the money in for the SLC is 1/29 Wednesday, January and for the hotel is 2/14 February. THE MONEY IS NONREFUNDABLE and the HOSA members can not stress this enough.
The students that are planning to go to the HOSA State Leadership Conference will need to be here 15 minutes before departure time (March 26 to 28 ).
The HOSA members are doing a fundraiser to help cover the trip. If you give in money, you will be put in a drawing to win a gift card.
Thank you and have a great day.

Prom!
Prom tickets have gone on sale and are $40 until the first of March! Prom will be April 17th, which is the first teacher workday leading into spring break.
Contrary to rumors, the dance will be held on campus this year. There will be a photo booth and our prom committee is looking into finding a photographer for formal pictures this year as well.
The committee has not released any more details for prom yet, but stay tuned because we will update everyone!

Drivers ED
Driver’s Education is a very important class for students to take. It is essential for students to learn how to drive and Driver’s Education is the place to go, taught by the popular “Officer Jordan” or known as OJ the class can really teach a student how to drive in busy streets or narrow roads.
The first two weeks you are in Driver’s Education is probably the least vital part of the class, everything you learned will be put to the test when that child tries to get their learner’s permit, in my opinion.
To me, the driving portion of Driver’s Education is the most important part of the class, the child gets to learn how to drive in traffic and even how to park and do turns. They learn everything essential to drive anywhere in the world, hard turns and curvy roads. What it feels like to drive is thrilling, you can almost feel the air piercing through you from the car, you have to keep the car in the middle of the road while watching everything in your surroundings, watching the mirrors and your blind spots. You will also need to understand when to stop, when to slow down and when to look around the car like on Yield Signs.
When you almost run your first red light or almost run into your first mailbox, it is scary, but…learning how to drive is a step-by-step process that you need to learn and it takes a while to learn how but when they get the hang of it, it becomes easy as pie.
