This year a new twist was added at this sanctioned event. Not only did the cheerleaders compete from Coastal Athletic Conference member schools, but there was a separate non-conference division within the same categories.
Additionally there were exhibition cheer squads from Chowan University and Gates County High School’s junior varsity.
Cindy Smith served as the energetic MC.
The cheerleaders performed to the beats of DJ Smooth.
The following donors supported this athletic event: Dr. Althea Riddick, Lavada Watson, Gates County Partnership Program, Roc Steele, Thomas Langston Plumbing, Lola Rountree, Lee Insurance, and Cathy Knight.
