RODUCO – A local man was arrested near here last week for possession of illegal narcotics

Gates County Sheriff Ray Campbell said a search warrant was executed on Friday, May 31 at a residence in the area of US 158 near Roduco. The Gates County Sheriff’s Office along with troopers with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol served the warrant.

Subsequently, Michael Wiggins was placed under arrest and charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver cocaine, maintaining a dwelling for the sale of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Wiggins was transported to the Albemarle District Jail in Elizabeth City where he was held under a $75,000 bond pending a court appearance.

Campbell said the warrant came at the conclusion of complaints in the area that were thoroughly investigated and after many hours of surveillance.

“This matter is still under investigation and further charges may be pending,” Sheriff Campbell said. “Remember, if you see something, say something.”
