Gates County is blessed to have many men and women who are the first to rush to the aid of those in need.
Hobbsville VFD Fire Chief Roderick Wiggins
For that reason, Gates County Farm Bureau has launched its First Responder of the Month program. The program will recognize a first responder every month and Gates County Farm Bureau will give them a $25 gift card.
The First Responder of the Month for May is Roderick Wiggins, Chief of the Hobbsville Volunteer Fire Department.
Wiggins has 24 years of service with the Hobbsville Volunteer Fire Department. He has served as the active Chief for 13 years.
Wiggins and his wife of 22 years, Angela, have two daughters: Maci and Marli.
In his free time, Chief Wiggins enjoys bear hunting and watching his kids play sports.
Gates County Farm Bureau salutes Chief Roderick Wiggins for all he does to make his community a safe place to live.
