GATESVILLE – The Gates County Democratic Party held their annual convention here March 16 at the county courthouse.
Party Chair Anthony Saunders presided over the meeting. Monica Horton-Wiggins, the county’s Clerk of Court, welcomed the Democratic Party members to the Courthouse.
Rev. Jimmy Boone gave the invocation.
Precinct Chairs in attendance were M. Pittman (Gatesville), Rodney Pope (Eure), and Rebecca Morgan (Sunbury/Corapeake).
Residents from all Precincts were represented at the event.
The special guest was Susan H. Scott, a candidate for the North Carolina Senate District 1. She addressed concern about future funding of the state’s public school system.
