GATESVILLE – The Coastal Athletic Conference Middle School Cheer Competition was hosted by Central Middle School on Saturday, Feb. 3.

Cheerleaders were able to show off their technical and crowd leading skills to the fans. They did an outstanding job and are to be commended for their confidence and ability to work as a team in synchronized formations while throwing and catching bodies through the air, tumbling, jumping, conducting motions and chants while remaining synchronized.

The following exhibition cheer teams supported the event: Chowan University Sapphire Cheer Squad, and Gates County High School Red Barons.

Alvin Hobbs “DJ Smooth” provided music and Makayla Gregory provided photos and video.

Event sponsors were Gates County Community Partnership, S&T Storage, River Road Enterprise. Lee Insurance, Thomas Langston Plumbing, The Petaler, Dalton and Chaneys, Lola Rountree, and Dr. Althea Riddick. Thanks to all donors, volunteers, parents and fans that provided support.

Conference results were as follows.
