EURE, NC – Karen Sue Nichols Tyndell-Lassiter, 64, of 36 Gates Forest Road, Eure, NC, passed away Monday, May 22, 2023 in ECU Health Roanoke-Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie.

Born in Portsmouth, VA on October 29, 1958, she was the daughter of William Bernard Nichols of Beckley, WV and the late Jean Inez Chatman Nichols. Employed as an electrician with Newport News Shipbuilding for many years, she was a member of Cool Spring Baptist Church and its Basil Crawford Sunday School Class.

Surviving in addition to her father is her husband of 20 years, Robert Winston “Bobby” Lassiter, Jr.; a daughter, Jamie Leigh Tyndell of Raleigh; a son, Wesley Alexander Tyndell of Gates; two sisters, Jeri Minick and Marian Byington, both of Eure; a brother, Brett Nichols of Edenton; a grandson, Jayden; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 26 at 2:00 p.m. in Cool Spring Baptist Church, and will be conducted by the Revs. Eric Bass and Roger Kiker. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
