GATES, NC – Nancy Morris Wiggins, 72, of 1018 Drum Hill Road, died Friday, February 10, 2023 in her home.

Mrs. Wiggins was born in Suffolk, VA on May 11, 1950 and was one of four daughters born to the late Benjamin Franklin Morris and Hilda Leigh Johnson Morris. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, LaVerne Eure and Ellen Bennett.

Formerly employed as a secretary with Ernest C. Hawkins, Jr. & Associates in Suffolk, she was a member of Reynoldson Baptist Church. Enjoyments included crocheting, painting, diamond art, and canning the harvest of her vegetable garden. The family laughs as they remember her best friends were her iPad and her faithful canine companions, Sassy and Shinook.

Surviving is her husband of nearly 32 years, John Herman Wiggins, Jr.; and her sister, Betty M. Brinkley (Mark) of Gates. Many friends and extended family mourn her passing, among which are her nephew, Benjamin Brinkley (Josh); nieces, Paula Bennett and Debbie Jenkins; and two great-nephews, Glennie and Paul Jodun, all of whom she was especially close to. Also surviving are Herman Jr’s. children, Kevin Wiggins (Carolyn) of Aulander and their son, Bryan Wiggins (Beth) of Virginia Beach; and Karen Riddick (Stacey) of Hobbsville and their sons, Daniel Riddick (Rachel) of Grimesland and Davis Riddick of Hobbsville.

In accordance with her wishes, a private memorial service is planned.
