GATESVILLE – The members of Gatesville United Methodist Church sadly announce the end of a holiday tradition that has lasted for 20 years.
They will no longer conduct their Tree of Lights remembrances, an event where the public was welcomed to sponsor a light on a tree, located on the church property, during the Christmas holiday in memory or in honor of a family member or friend.
“We wish to thank all those who have supported us over the last 20 years,” stated church member Linda Lane. “Memories were made corresponding with wonderful, caring, and supportive individuals over the years.
“Even though we will no longer continue this annual observance, our loved ones will remain forever in our hearts. With gratitude, we wish all of you and your families a blessed holiday season,” Lane concluded.
